I received the devastating diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2009. So, I started researching the many treatment options. But, I had to question their efficacy because no treatment seemed like it worked.
My neurologist gave me the choice between pharmaceuticals, a few disease-modifying drugs for immediate treatment. When I refused the offer, he told me that I would get progressively worse and end up in a wheelchair.
About a year later, that horrible prediction came true. I woke up one morning to total paralysis on the entire left side of my body. It was terrifying. And, what made it worse was that my cousin was going through the exact same situation, an MS battle that ended with her death. She was in her early 40’s.
I was determined to drastically improve my health. I did not want the same outcome as my poor cousin. My neurologist never gave me any alternatives to a life on disease modifying drugs, so I began tirelessly researching on my own.
Then, after experimenting with different alternative therapies, I finally turned to the study of Holistic Nutrition. I learned the importance of the mind-body connection, stress reduction, gut health, good nutrition, exercise, breath work and meditation.
Along my path to wellness, I also came across a TED talk by a physician named Dr. Terry Wahls. I was inspired by her story of overcoming MS. She explained her well-researched diet and lifestyle choices. And, I was so immpressed, I later became certified in the Wahls Protocol to help others with chronic diseases.
As part of my Holistic Nutrition training, I completed coursework on medical marijuana, cannabidiol (CBD) and the endocannabinoid system (ECS). I saw how CBD helped so many others with chronic diseases. So, I tried it myself, with excellent results.
I am now a proud member of the International Society of Cannabis Pharmacists and a dedicated advocate for the safe use of quality CBD products.
Now, as the founder of Wholistic Wellness Boutique, I am able to live my passion. I help people live more holistically while incorporating cannabis and/or CBD into their lifestyle.

During her sophomore year in high school, Alaia Daniel,PharmD was first inspired to become a pharmacist because of her love of science and medicine. Her father took her to visit his Auburn University college buddy at the local independent pharmacy that he owned. He showed her the ins and outs of the business, and she was determined to help people in the way that he did.
Years later, after graduating from the University of South Carolina with her Doctorate degree in Pharmacy, Dr. Daniel began working in various retail and substance abuse settings where her viewpoints on pharmacy started to change. At the start of her career, she believed that pharmaceutical drugs were an important part of achieving health. Later on she began to realize that while pharmaceuticals were important in emergency medicine, they only work to “manage” chronic diseases and provide symptom relief.
To fuel her passion for holistic wellness, Dr. Daniel studied under Sifu Mark Armstrong at Ahimki School of Holistic Theology, receiving a Bachelor of Naturopathic Science degree. She is currently enrolled at the Energetic Health Institute and working towards Board Certification in Holistic Nutrition.
